About ARPA Western Australia

ARPA WA, the Western Australian branch of the Australian Rehabilitation Providers Association (ARPA), is the only organization in Western Australia specifically established to represent the interests of the Vocational Rehabilitation (AVRP) industry in this State.  ARPA WA originated in 1988 and was known as RPA it was then incorporated as ARPA WA in June 2002.

Its membership consists of Vocational Rehabilitation companies and individuals registered as Vocational Rehabilitation providers with the Western Australian WorkCover Authority (WorkCover WA), and with other compensation schemes including Comcare and the Transport Accident Commission. It is estimated that the ARPA WA membership accounts for at least 85% of the Vocational Rehabilitation work performed within the Western Australian WorkCover scheme and other compensation schemes. Membership includes small, medium and large sized Vocational Rehabilitation providers that are private and Government entities.

ARPA WA and its members believe that appropriate Vocational Rehabilitation intervention is key to the achievement of cost effective and durable return to work outcomes for injured individuals, whether this is with the pre-injury employer or a new employer.

ARPA WA is recognized as the Vocational Rehabilitation industry body by WorkCover WA and other compensation authorities, and has representatives on WorkCover WA standing committees such as:

  • WorkCover WA Scheme Participants Reference Group
  • Injury Management Reference Group

ARPA WA continues to achieve significant outcomes for its members through its ongoing involvement in negotiations and discussions with relevant compensable and Government bodies, as well as with key stakeholder groups
